Day 1: Vientiane - Ban Hatkhai Village

8:00 am pick up at your hotel in Vientiane and transfer to Ban Hatkhai Village where a long-tail boat brings us up stream of the Nam Mang River. We turn into Houay Xai Stream, one of Nam Mang’s tributaries. After 1-hr boat ride we begin a trek under evergreen canopy.  A picnic lunch is served on the way.

In the afternoon we reach Tad Xay Waterfall and Pha Xay Waterfall. These waterfalls are particularly beautiful during and after the rainy season. Tad Xay is ideal for short refreshment in the natural pools.

After the refreshment we take a songthaew ride to Ban Hatkhai Village where we have dinner and stay overnight in local house.

Note: In the dry season, we are not able to take long tail boat on Houay Xai stream, so we continue the boat ride up-stream the Nam Mang to meet another trekking starting point on the river bank (3-hrs trek)

Day 2: Ban Hatkhai Village - Tad Leuk Waterfall - Vientiane

After an early breakfast in the home-stay, we will be transferred to the Tad Leuk Waterfall. The Tad Leuk is a local tourist attraction amidst mixed deciduous forest. We spend sometime to visit the Visitor Center where we would be guided to the fauna and flora of the NPA. After the Visitor Center we take a short trek around the sight ang have lunch.

In the afternoon, the trek follows a path along the Nam Leuk to the Tad Sang Waterfall, another idyllic place for bathing and relaxation. Along the way, a large number of orchids can be seen, especially in wet season. From here we drive back to Vientiane.
