This tour offers a unique opportunity to explore one of the most remote parts of Northern Laos, Phongsali Province! Its stunning mountains challenge any trekker. The river trip allows you to enjoy one of the most scenic rivers and holly cave, Pak Ou Cave, in Laos with experience of local life along the river banks.

This tour takes you into forest and several villages of the most prominent ethnic groups in Northern Laos: the Khmu and Hmong. The Khmu are also called "Laos Theung" and settle at a medium altitude, the latter, sometimes called "Laos Soung", live in high regions along the mountain ridges.

You will see two scenic waterfalls on day 3. Day 4 and 5 are spent kayaking and relaxing in the rural setting of the Lower Nam Ou River.

This trek is entirely within the Nam Ha National Protected Area, an ASEAN Heritage Site. The 3 days trek is entirely in the forest. This is a trip for those who want a true forest experience. The villagers of a Khmu village will host us at our first forest camp deep in the forest. At the second camp Akha villagers will be your hosts. The camps, built out of bamboo and wood by the villagers themselves, are places to immerse oneself in the beauty of the jungle. Along the way, local Khmu and Akha guides will explain the forest products used by villagers for food, medicine, materials and religious ceremonies. Rise early on the third day for the sunrise and go with an Akha bird caller to learn how the Akha can call wild birds in.

This 2 days trek through the Nam Ha Protected Area takes you into a mountainous forest camp and the world of the Akha people where you will spend time learning about the lives and culture of these famous woodsmen. Learn about the rich fauna and flora of the protected forest. Walk along a stream to a refreshing little waterfall. Spend the night with your Akha hosts and taste their special forest spices.

For centuries traders and their horse caravans tread the paths of Northern Laos on the road from Mengla to the salt springs of Boten and then on Chiang Mai. Today this horse caravan road is almost forgotten and lost to the forest. On the Old China Road 2 Day Trek you will have the chance to retrace the steps of the old traders and capture a taste of what it must have been like to have walked these forested ways a hundred years ago.

The Old China Road 2 day trek is a moderate trek through forest and rice paddies. This has expansive views of the area’s mountains and a stay in a little studded ethnic group called Sida.

The National Protected Area of Phou Khao Khouay is the nearest National Park to Vientiane. Besides some great scenery and beautiful waterfalls, the NPA offers trails through dry evergreen and mixed deciduous forests, numerous waterfalls and rivers.
The friendly village of Ban Hatkhai is a good place to learn more about the genuine lifestyle of the Lao Loum people.

This 3 days trek is designed for those who like to be immersed in nature, enjoy wildlife observation and look forward to camping in the forest.

Traversing the Phou Khao Khouay National Protected Area, the trail continuously follows the Nam Leuk River. The trek starts at the Tad Leuk Waterfall in the southeast of the National Park and ends at the southern tip of the Nam Lake, where the Ang Nam Leuk Reservoir (Note that this area is inhabited by the Siamese Crocodile) feeds the river.

This easy trek takes the passionate walker into the elephant forests of the Phou Khao Khouay NPA. There are two herds known to inhabit this national park, one has quite recently chosen to roam the bamboo forest nearby the village of Ban Na.

To protect these elephants and to compensate the villagers for the frequent damages, a community-based tourism scheme was introduced. Trained local guides lead the visitors to very remote sites within the forests of this nature reserve, just over an hour away from Vientiane.

These 3 days trekking will give you an opportunity to see Tat Fane, one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Laos, with parallel streams of the Huay Banglieng River plunging out of dense forest and down more than 120 meters. Tat Fane is at the edge of the 1100-sq-km Dong Hua Sao NPA where the trekking trails are the best and perhaps the only way to get into the park. Dong Hau Sao is home to a healthy population of tigers, though you are more likely to see monkey, gigantic butterflies and in the wet season, dozens of great hornbills who like to hang out at the bottom of the falls.
